Toyota has officially brought its legendary Land Cruiser into the future with the launch of the Hybrid Land Cruiser 2025, powered by the advanced i-FORCE MAX hybrid system. Under the hood is a 2.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with an electric motor, producing a combined output of 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. This hybrid system not only boosts performance but also significantly improves fuel efficiency, offering around 23 mpg combined impressive for a full-size SUV built for extreme terrains.
Off-Road DNA Reinforced by New-Gen Platform
Built on Toyota’s GA-F body-on-frame architecture, the Hybrid Land Cruiser maintains its iconic off-road capabilities. It features full-time four-wheel drive, a locking center differential, Crawl Control, and Multi-Terrain Select for superior performance on rocks, sand, or mud. The hybrid system does not compromise on ruggedness; in fact, the low-end torque from the electric motor enhances control on uneven trails and inclines. The SUV can wade through up to 700 mm of water, retaining its extreme-duty appeal for true adventure seekers.
Modern Interior with Retro Touches and Tech Upgrades
Inside the Hybrid Land Cruiser, Toyota blends retro charm with futuristic tech. The cabin features a high-resolution 12.3-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital driver display, Qi wireless charging, and an available JBL premium sound system. Soft-touch materials, leather seats, and rugged knobs reinforce a balance between comfort and functionality, making it suitable for both city drives and off-road expeditions.
Launch Details, Pricing, and Global Rollout
The 2025 Hybrid Land Cruiser has already been launched in North America and Australia, with other markets including Europe and parts of Asia expected to follow soon. In the U.S., prices start from approximately $56,700 for the base variant. India may receive a different spec depending on demand and emission norms, with potential launch timing set for late 2025 or early 2026. Toyota is also offering a 48V mild-hybrid diesel option in select markets for enhanced fuel economy and smoother urban performance.
